About

Giulia is a Flower grower and designer based in Corofin. She has a background in botanical illustration and graphic design which brings art at the core of her flower arrangements.

She started her horticulture journey 8 years ago, working for Organic Farms and gardens in Dublin, Kildare and Clare before starting her flower journey on her own land in Clare in 2020.

At Giulia Eco Flower farm she grows and designs bespoke flower arrangements. From her off-grid Strawbales studio she uses wild and cultivated flowers keeping an extra eye to design, style and colour palette. Each type of flowers is planned a year ahead, searching for unusual varieties you wouldn’t find in a standard Floristry shop.

Each seed is carefully sown and plants are taken care for you to appreciate their beauty. Giulia's farm uses only solar energy and rain water, she sow, grows, harvest, plan, dries and designs all of the flowers herself. She is part of the Ennis farmers market every Friday (Not currently March and April 2024) and provides eco-conscious arrangements for events and weddings.

Our Story

Starting as a botanical illustrator, Giulia followed her passion into horticulture. Her husband Martin and herself bought land in Ireland in 2018, with no business in mind. Just a dream place which could evolve into an art & permaculture project.

The land used to be an old shales quarry and covers 3 acres, when they bought it they would have only grown veg for themselves. It was a totally wild area, nothing established, plenty of rushes and wild flowers growing above the quarry.

They initially planted 500/700 native Irish trees; Planted an orchard with heritage Apple trees, a few pears and damsons. After building up soil with no-dig method for a few years Giulia decided, in 2020, over lockdown, to start growing flowers. The second year we added a small and medium size polytunnel as the frames were gifted to us by Liz Griffith, a local flower grower.

We love skill sharing and make the most of our growing season asking people to help out. This is the best way to come and know how we work, be part of our story and share yours with us. We love having Meitheal (Gatherings in Irish), if you would like to be part of one or more of them during the year please get in touch. We usually ask to help in the garden, we offer food and plenty of chats!
